2011 Christmas

May the true meaning of Christmas fill your hearts forever!  Wayne and I did not put up a tree, so we "adopted one" at the Grand Traverse Resort.  We had a wonderful visit with my brother Mike!  And our adorable grandchildren in front of the tree at their church.  Nora is wearing a velvet jumper that I sewed for her big sister Caitlin several years ago.  ENJOY!

Muppet Puppets

My church had a free clothing give away which included a free lunch.  The public was welcome and we had a large quantity of beautiful clothes donated by members of the congregation.  I helped serve lunch one of the days.  Someone donated these adorable puppets and I adopted (the grand kids will love them also).  I placed the large puppets on decorative sticks that I am using for my garden - that is why they have "green plastic leaves".  Notice the cheer leaders even has pom poms attached to her hands!

Light House for the Garden

While walking Lake Michigan we have collected rocks for the light house.

My Sewing Gifts

I've recently completed a baby quilt (36x60) for my cousin's new baby.  Also, (which I bought the sewing panels at a garage sale) I sewed a cute cloth book for my grandson Jacob and bibs for him to use at day care.

I get to give these gifts soon, so keep it a secret!

Enjoy!

Table Cloths at "The Happening" July 16, 2011

Here are photos of the table cloths that I sewed for "Grow Benzie's" "The Happening".  It was a great fund-raising event for our community.  Enjoy!  In the 2nd photo - upper left - you can see part of the green houses at Grow Benzie - see www.growbenzie.org for more info.

Sew Many Table cloths

So I sewed over 40 table cloths for a non-profit organization named "Grow Benzie" - for their annual fund raising event.  They are going to use the cloths for the event and also have them available for purchase.  Here are photos of the cloths.  I had many duplicate table cloths and just plain ones that I decided not to take a photo of.  The United States one - has 2 prints of the US map on it and they are mirror images, so people sitting at the table can read the map easily.  The one on the table I especially like.  Enjoy!  "The Happening" (fund raiser event) is Saturday, July 16th in the evening.  See www.growbenzie.org for more info.  Enjoy!!  Notice Lucy in the last photo, she loved actually watching me sew almost every table cloth, she is my sweet heart of a kitty!!

My small garden

This spring we had a late start on our garden, but we did make it a little bit larger.  Next year we have plans to make it larger still.  We also have a cute light house to cover our well.  It has a small solar light on top and at night it shines!  Notice my "fishing lure" scare crow in the garden area.

Driveway Happenings

Today our entire driveway is paved! And we have a gorgeous day also! Enjoy!

Basement Happenings

Wayne has been busy building a basement closet and a work bench for himself. Although the closet is not completely done, I wanted to share a photo. Everything looks so nice.

My hike to "Pete's Woods"

This hike was taken on my Tuesday Women's Trekker Hike group last week. These wildflowers were spectacular!

Frankfort Sewing Studio

You have been hearing about the Sewing Studio that we have been working on, so here are some photos. Wayne did some painting for the studio and I have been helping to put it together and also helping with the Open Sew sessions.

Vacationing in Belleville, Michigan

A couple of weeks ago, I visited John and the grand kids while Jessica was out-of-town attending a training class for work. We decided to go on "vacation" to the park since it was a glorious, sunny, warm day (80 degrees)! Here are some photos of the kiddos enjoying our mini-vacation. Later on we went out to eat at Big Boy and Nora found every image of Big Boy there was to find. She kept saying "Here he is", "Here's Big Boy"-- it was a lot of fun!

Revamped Lane Chest

I've been meaning to replace the cushion top on the Lane Chest that my sister-in-law gave to me. It was looking pretty tired, so decided to use fabric that I had around the house. It really turned out nice. The center area was a small woven "rug" that was not practical to use as a rug and the smaller fabric pieces are remnants that I had from covering chair cushions. As you can see, Lucy and Savannah think the re-make is pretty nice!

Caribbean Friends

My close encounter with 2 Iguanas! I only did this for the grand kids to see!
